After Midnight
The rooms that do not appear on any list, the drivers who know the back streets of three capitals, and the calls answered at the fourth hour.
A Note from Us
The Month AheadAugust is the month that tests us. Everyone is away, everyone wants something, and everyone wants it now. This letter is about what happens after midnight — the rooms that do not appear on any list, the drivers who know the back streets, and the calls we answer at the fourth hour without surprise.
If you have never needed us at three in the morning, this is what that looks like. Five minutes of reading, and a number to save.

The Endless Table
5 London restaurants to knowBrat
Basque · Shoreditch
The turbot is the reason. The grill is the method. Book for 9pm, not 7.
Kiln
Thai · Soho
No reservations. We hold a counter seat for the first sitting. Ask for the glass noodles.
St. John
British · Clerkenwell
The nose-to-tail original. The bone marrow and the eccles cake have not changed in twenty years. Nor should they.
The River Café
Italian · Hammersmith
Still the best Italian in London. The garden table is the one to hold in August.
Bocca di Lupo
Regional Italian · Soho
The menu changes by region nightly. Ask the waiter what is from Puglia today.
The Escape
Destination of the monthMykonos, after the crowd. The island is supposedly impossible in August — and for most it is. But we hold two villas above Ornos Bay that are never listed and never advertised. One has a helipad. The other has a path to a beach that is, by local arrangement, private after ten at night.
The villas come with a housekeeper, a cook, and a boat on the quay. You will not go to the town if you do not want to. The sunset from the terrace is the same one the beach clubs charge for. You will have it to yourself.
The Experience
A recent client arrangementA family of five, on a yacht off Saint-Tropez, needed to be in the Cotswolds by morning. The airports were closed, the ferries full, and the children were asleep. We moved them in under nine hours — a RIB to Nice, a private jet to Geneva, a change of cars, and a stop for the children that was not on the schedule.
They arrived at 7am. The house was warm, the kitchen was stocked, and the children did not wake during the transfer. It cost more than the flight would have. It was worth it.
Concierge Tip
One insider recommendationIf you are in a city where you do not know a doctor, do not look one up. Call us. We hold a list of private practitioners in forty cities who will come to your room, your villa, or your table — and who will not bill you through an app. The call is the service. The number is on the back of this letter.
The Final Note
Until next monthAugust is a month that asks much and gives little rest. We wish you a prosperous month ahead — one with a slow morning, a full table, and a number you never need to dial.
The next letter arrives at the turn of September. If there is anything you need — a villa, a table, a journey — One Call. Endless Possibilities.
